The Radio Mercury Awards celebrate champions of great radio -- for 25 years they have honored and rewarded U.S. agencies on their creative radio work for some of America’s biggest brands, including Bud Light, Nike, Motel 6, Staples, Heineken, Subway, Ragu and Combos (Mars). This year the Mercury Awards will dole out up to $90,000 in prizes, including the coveted $50,000 Best of Show, along with prizes for commercials, campaigns, PSAs, integrated campaigns and innovative use of radio.
2016 Chief Judge Chris Smith, brand creative group head at two-time Mercury Best of Show-winning agency The Richards Group, says: “What continues to amaze me is how, despite radio being the oldest broadcast medium we have, brands and agencies keep finding ways to keep it fresh and surprising. While social and digital are getting a lot of attention, radio is quietly experiencing a kind of creative Golden Age. It’s really fun to
be a part of.”
