RAB & BMI Announce the 2007 Recipients of the RAB/BMI FastStart to Radio Sales Success Minority Scholarship Program

New York, July 3, 2007 - The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and BMI have announced the recipients of the 2007 FastStart to Radio Sales Success Minority Scholarship Program. For the sixth consecutive year, BMI has sponsored 25 minority scholarships that provide full tuition to the Gary Fries Radio Advertising Bureau Radio Training Academy in Dallas, Texas, or the Academy’s Off-Campus Extension Program.

The recipients listed below represent a broad range of group sizes and come from various markets and regions across the country. Scholarship recipients are chosen by the Selection Committee, a body of 21 industry professionals with an interest in enhancing the ethnic and cultural diversity of Radio. Scholarships are awarded based on various criteria, including ethnicity of applicant, overall need, applicant’s enthusiasm toward a career in Radio sales, and recommendations from professional associates.

“We are grateful to BMI for their continued support in underwriting scholarships to the Radio Training Academy,” stated Mike Mahone, Executive Vice President/Services, RAB. “Their commitment over the past several years has afforded numerous minority salespeople with excellent career training that is necessary for their professional development.”

"The value of the RAB Radio Training Academy is unquestionable in helping new and experienced sellers refine their Radio sales skills, and we are proud to sponsor and support this program on a continuing basis," stated Mike O'Neill, BMI Senior Vice President, Licensing.
