New York, New York – July 29, 2008 – RAB2009, the world’s largest conference exclusively devoted to Radio sales, management, and marketing, will take place at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando Florida, March 16 to 18, 2009. Presented annually by the Radio Advertising Bureau, the Conference will build on the momentum that began this year with RAB2008, culminating in attendance figures that surged up 16 percent over the previous conference.
Sheila F. Kirby, President, Strategic Sales Development for Interep and a member of the RAB Board of Directors, will serve as Chairperson of the Planning Committee for the second consecutive year. Kirby will lead the select team of highly respected Radio industry professionals who represent a cross-section of markets and a variety of Radio groups. “RAB2009 is a must-attend conference for acquiring new skill sets and tools that deliver results in the current challenging economy,” observed Kirby. “What we started at RAB2008 will serve as the foundation for an even stronger program that provides real-world, applicable solutions for generating and capturing advertiser spending.”
“We are in a volatile advertising climate that requires a dramatic shift in how we perceive and package Radio’s assets,” stated Jeff Haley, President and Chief Executive Officer, RAB. “Sheila’s contribution to RAB2008 helped set the stage for a program devoted to a new perspective on innovation, and we are grateful that she will again donate her time, energy, and expertise to helping us develop a program with substantial content for driving revenue success.”
At Interep, Kirby oversees all of the company’s sales efforts, including a strategic initiative to reach agency planning groups and upper-level decision-makers. She has received numerous industry accolades, including consecutive wins since 2004 as one of American Women in Radio and Television’s (AWRT) Top 25 Women in Sales and Marketing, and as one of the Most Influential Women in Radio by Radio Ink Magazine. She also serves on the Board of Directors for both the RAB and the New York City Chapter of AWRT.
