Radio Mercury Awards Announces Bill Ludwig Chairman, CEO Campbell Ewald as 2012 Chief Judge

New York, New York – January 30, 2012 – The Radio Mercury Awards are looking to make waves this year for the 21st annual Radio Mercury Awards competition. Entries are now being accepted for creative work that pushes the limits in audio advertising. Throughout Ludwig’s creative career he was responsible for developing several iconic campaigns and now leads the Agency with a roster featuring many of the most recognized brands in advertising including General Motors, OnStar, Alltel Wireless, Kaiser Permanente, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Postal Service. Ludwig is a member of the American Advertising Federation Hall of Achievement and recognized as a true visionary and strategic leader in advertising. He also serves on the Ad Council’s Board of Directors and has served as the Radio Mercury Award Chief Judge in 2002.

The 2012 Call for Entry is open for submissions. Prizes will be awarded in the Agency Production, Radio Station Produced, Student, PSA, Spanish Language, Radio Campaign, Integrated Campaign, and Best of Show. New to this year’s awards, a Radio Innovation prize will also be awarded. This new award will seek out ahead of the curve, groundbreaking, out-of-the-box, revolutionary radio creative work. About the Radio Mercury Awards The Radio Mercury Awards, the only competition exclusively devoted to radio, was established in 1992 to encourage and reward the development of effective and creative radio commercials. The annual Radio Mercury Awards competition draws entries from advertising agencies, production houses, radio stations, and educational institutions across the country. Approximately 17,000 commercials have competed for over $3 million in prizes. The Radio Creative Fund (RCF), a non-profit corporation funded by the radio industry, governs the Radio Mercury Awards.
