WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Chairman and CEO of DTS, Inc. Jon Kirchner will appear in conversation with NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith at the Radio Luncheon, sponsored by NextRadio and held Wednesday, September 21 during the Radio Show. The conversation will focus on the future of the radio industry and its overall global and local impact. The 2016 Radio Show, produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will be held September 21-23 at the Omni Nashville Hotel.

Kirchner has served as chairman and CEO of DTS, Inc. since February 2010, and CEO since 2001. Since joining the company in 1993, he has also served as COO and CFO. Under Kirchner’s leadership, DTS has grown from a small startup to a global enterprise, serving the cinema, home, mobile and automotive markets. The company acquired iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer and licensor of HD Radio, in 2015.

“DTS emerged as a leading audio technology company under Mr. Kirchner’s direction,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. “We look forward to hearing his global perspective on growth opportunities he sees for radio in the car, smartphone and home.”

In 2012, Kirchner received the Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of The Year Award for Greater Los Angeles. In 2011, he was honored by the Producers Guild of America and “Variety,” receiving the Digital 25: Leaders in Emerging Entertainment Award for being among the visionaries that have made significant contributions to the advancement of digital entertainment and storytelling. Additionally, Kirchner serves on the board of directors of Samba TV, as chairman of the YPO Santa Monica Bay Charitable Foundation and is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

As previously announced, former president and chief executive officer of Lincoln Financial Media Company Don Benson will receive the National Radio Award at the Radio Luncheon.
