RADIO SHOW OPENING SESSION TO FOCUS ON THE CONNECTED CAR

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Scott Deaver of Avis Budget Group, Joe D’Angelo of Xperi, Inc. and John Ellis of Ellis & Associates will discuss the future of the digital dash during a session titled The Connected Car Listener Experience on September 5 as part of the 2017 Radio Show. The discussion will be moderated by National Association of Broadcasters Chief Technology Officer Sam Matheny.

Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), the Radio Show will be held September 5-8 at the JW Marriott in Austin.

The Connected Car Listener Experience will explore the current and future landscape of the connected car, including the opportunities surrounding self-driving cars and other voice activation trends.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Avis Budget Group, Scott Deaver leads the global marketing and customer experience functions for all of the company's brands, including Avis, Budget, Zipcar, Payless, Maggiore and Apex. Prior to his current position, Deaver served as chief strategy and development officer, overseeing operational efficiency and revenue growth initiatives. He has more than 25 years of experience with Avis Budget Group and its predecessor company, Cendant Corporation. During his tenure, Deaver has held various positions in marketing, strategy, revenue management, decision technology, licensing, car sharing and emerging markets.

In his role as Senior Vice President of Broadcast Radio for Xperi, Inc., Joe D’Angelo is responsible for the company's global broadcast radio business and product development. As one of the founders of iBiquity Digital, the company behind HD Radio technology, D’Angelo has over 17 years of experience in the radio technology industry and has led commercial licensing, product development and technology innovation efforts. Prior to joining Xperi, he was a principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers in its information, communication and entertainment consulting practice. During his tenure, he worked closely with telecommunications and entertainment companies, assisting with strategic planning, corporate restructurings, global expansion and mergers and acquisitions.

As founder and managing director for Ellis & Associates, John Ellis oversees global management consulting for clients in the transportation, consumer, connectivity and software sectors. Formerly the global technologist of Ford Motor Company's connected car business unit, Ellis was involved in developing and delivering Sync Gen 3, Ford’s latest generation connected car solution, the next generation Sync services (Ford’s connected car+cloud service), as well as SmartDeviceLink, an API system for integrating mobile devices into the car. Previously, Ellis was an executive with Motorola, delivering wireless software products and services to the mobile industry.
