WASHINGTON,
D.C./NEW YORK— The 2017 Radio Show will feature BMI songwriters The Peterson
Brothers, Datura, Dan Dyer, Robert Earle Keen, Love & Chaos, Jack Ingram,
Rob Baird, Emily Wolfe, The Wild Now and Swimming With Bears as part of the BMI Artist Spotlight Series. The performances are free for
registered attendees and will take place during select sessions and networking
events. Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the
Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), the Radio Show will be held September 5-8 at
the JW Marriott Austin.
“Radio
continues to be king for millions of music lovers to listen to their favorite
acts as well as a place to discover new music,” said Dan Spears, BMI’s vice
president of Industry Relations, Licensing. “By once again providing the talent
for the Artist Spotlight Series, BMI shines a spotlight on the songwriters
behind the music we all enjoy every day.”

THE
PETERSON BROTHERS
September 5, 5:00-6:30 p.m.- Opening Party
The Peterson Brothers are an Austin-based funk-rock-blues band. The young duo’s
self-titled debut album won the Living Blues Critics Award for Best Debut Blues
Album of 2015.
DATURA
September 6, 10:00-10:30 a.m.- Coffee Break in The Marketplace
Singer/songwriter Jessica Pyrdsa heads the Austin-based band known for
piano-driven melodies with sounds inspired from both the jazz and blues genres.
DAN
DYER
September 6, 3:15-3:45 p.m.- Snack Break in The Marketplace
Dan Dyer began playing the guitar at age 18, and his music has been heavily
influenced by his life in Texas. His signature sound is a blend of soul, folk
and country.
ROBERT
EARLE KEEN
September 6, 4:00-4:15 p.m.- Wednesday Headliner Session
Debuting with “No Kinda Dancer” in 1984, the Houston native has recorded 19
albums, with many of his songs having cover versions recorded by other country
and folk musicians. Keen is regarded as a living legend in the Americana genre
of music.
LOVE
& CHAOS
September 6, 5:30-7:00 p.m.- The Marketplace Mixer
AJ Vallejo and Kendall Beard recently released their self-titled debut EP,
which features a mix of Americana, country and rock. Previously, Vallejo was
voted Producer of the Year at the Austin Music Awards and toured with Matchbox
20, Blues Traveler and the Stone Temple Pilots. Beard earned national success
as a finalist on season eight of “American Idol.”
JACK
INGRAM
September 7, 7:30-9:00 a.m.- Advertiser Breakfast
Jack Ingram reached the U.S. top 40 with the release of his single “Wherever
You Are” in 2005. With eight albums and numerous hits on the Billboard country
charts, Ingram released his most recent album “Midnight Motel” in 2016.
ROB
BAIRD
September 7, 11:30 a.m.–12:10 p.m.- Lunch in The Marketplace
Memphis-born Rob Baird emerged onto the country music scene with the
critically-acclaimed “I Swear It’s the Truth” in 2012. His most recent album,
“Wrong Side of the River,” was released in 2016 and has proven to be his most
eclectic collection of songs yet.
EMILY
WOLFE
September 7, 12:20-1:00 p.m.- Lunch in The Marketplace
Self-taught guitar player Emily Wolfe released her first EP in 2014, followed
by her self-released single “Atta Blues” in 2016. Her music is a mix of rock
and folk, and she’s shared the stage with Heart, The Pretenders and Gary Clark
Jr.
THE
WILD NOW
September 7, 2:30-3:00 p.m.- Snack Break in The Marketplace
This Austin-based duo consisting of Taylor Baker and Drew Walker won the
American Songwriter’s Sole Performer award in 2014. Their second EP,
“Afterglow,” was released this past May and features diverse indie pop sounds.
SWIMMING
WITH BEARS
September 7, 4:15-5:15 p.m.- The Marketplace Happy Hour
Joe Perry, Alec Conte, Jon Kerr and Ryan Hannasch recently released the band’s
second EP and have been on their first national tour this summer. The band has
opened for Weezer and Panic! At The Disco.
