What Stations Are Doing: Limbaugh's Cure-A-Thon Sets New Records

Rush Limbaugh's 21st annual Leukemia and Lymphoma Cure-A-Thon -- which kicked off during his daily national radio show -- has surpassed last year's record-breaking total of $3.1 million, with more donations continuing to be counted. The event kicked off with a bang, thanks to a $500,000 donation from "El Rushbo" and his wife, Kathryn, to "get the ball rolling."

At first reluctant to reveal the amount of his personal donation to the cause, Limbaugh said, "I'm not like one of these TV telethon hosts that says, 'I'm donating my time.' I never ask people to do what we don't do. I'm not going to sit here and ask you to contribute financially to this if I don't."

Later, during a Friday edition of Limbaugh's Premiere Radio Networks syndicated show, special guest Donald Trump added to the pot with a $100,000 donation toward finding a cure for blood cancers. More details and updated totals can be found at Limbaugh's website HERE.

Are You Getting Your Share of Digital Business?

There is a reason Radio is not getting the Digital revenue it deserves: Too many clients don't think Radio sellers understand Digital. And that means the money that could be going to Radio, to your stations, to your commission checks, is likely going somewhere else.

It doesn't have to.

RAB's Certified Digital Marketing Consultant (CDMC) training will give you and your team the confidence and ability to present and close your station's Digital business. Period.

The next online class begins this Thursday, May 5. For more information, contact Rob Boaden today at (843) 757-5066 or rboaden@rab.com.

RAB's In-Person Certified Radio Sales Management Class

This intense three-day session will focus on key areas managers need to help keep their stations on a growth track for 2011...and themselves on a growth track for their career! The workshop is intended for anyone who has "manager" on their business card and is responsible for people and revenue.

For more information, contact Rob Boaden at 843/757-5066, or rboaden@rab.com.
