Nike 'Back to the Future' Shoes Raise $4.7M for Parkinson's

Nike said the auction of its limited edition Nike MAG shoes -- designed as replicas of the futuristic shoes worn by the Marty McFly character in "Back to the Future II" -- raised $4.7 million for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) said the 10-day eBay auction covered 1,500 pairs of limited edition 2011 NIKE MAG shoes. The funds will go straight to the Foundation's aggressive research programs to help speed a cure for Parkinson's disease. |

Companies Party with a Purpose

Recently, one of our clients announced to their employees that the traditional holiday party will not be held this year. The employees were very disappointed. The annual event has long been a high point of the year because it brought families together for an evening of food, drinks and socializing.
The disappointment turned to excitement when the owner announced that the holiday party hadn't been completely cancelled, but would be replaced by a smaller scale event that will enable people to give back to their community. |

What Stations Are Doing: Toyota, Entravision Partner for Free Concert

The concert will be in the LA area and celebrate the new 2012 Toyota Camry: The "Camry for a Better Commute" concert features top artists Julieta Venegas and Latin pop group Belanova. The event takes place at the Event Deck at L.A. Live on 11/22 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, Entravision and Toyota will offer LA area residents free bus transportation to and from the event from four select locations around the metro area. |
