If you're happy and you know it…



“If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands…. If you’re happy and you know it then your face will surely show it…” I learned that song in Sunday School when I was very young.

The power of a smile is amazing. I do a lot of traveling, and it’s not uncommon to see people who are angry about delays or other issues that arise when they’re on the road. In my experience, when you’re dealing with a stressful situation, taking a breath, pausing, and then smiling goes a long way to making difficult situations more tolerable.

When you’re on the phone or calling on a prospect in-person, are you smiling? When you talk to your clients, can they hear the joy in your voice? Non- verbal communication can be as powerful as any words you use. There are three vibes you should constantly be exuding to your clients in all forms of communication:

1. I’m happy to be here
2. I know what I’m talking about
3. I love what I’m doing

They all start with a smile. If you don’t LOVE what you’re doing, why do it?
