RAB Launches Audio Marketing Professional Credential for Marketers and Agencies

First-of-its-kind program provides practical education for planning, buying, creating and measuring audio

NEW YORK — Sept. 15, 2026 — RAB today announced the launch of Audio Marketing Professional (AMP), a first-of-its-kind professional education and certification program created for marketers, agency professionals, media planners and buyers. AMP gives participants the knowledge and practical skills to understand, plan, buy, create and measure audio as part of today’s integrated media landscape.

The self-paced program is designed specifically for marketers, agencies, media professionals and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of how to leverage radio in all its forms to drive business outcomes. It serves professionals looking to strengthen their media expertise, better understand today’s audio landscape and stay ahead in an evolving industry.

The curriculum provides practical insights into the role of broadcast radio and audio in today’s media ecosystem; consumer behavior and engagement with audio; the power of sound, creative and sonic branding; measurement, effectiveness and proven business results; and emerging trends shaping what is next for audio. Participants will also learn best practices to plan and activate audio campaigns, measure and optimize radio and audio plans, create impactful advertising and leverage the medium beyond spots and dots through experiential opportunities, influencer marketing and more.

“Audio is a powerful part of consumers’ daily lives, yet marketers have lacked a dedicated professional credential focused on how to use it most effectively,” said Mike Hulvey, president and CEO, RAB. “AMP closes that gap with practical, actionable education that helps marketers make smarter audio decisions and deliver stronger outcomes. It also reinforces radio’s leadership within the broader audio landscape.”

“AMP gives marketers and agency professionals a clear, practical way to deepen their understanding of audio and put that knowledge to work,” said Jennifer Hungerbuhler, chair of the RAB Audio Advisory Board. “The curriculum reflects how media is planned and bought today, while giving participants the tools to use audio more intentionally, creatively and effectively. The Audio Advisory Board is proud to help bring this important credential to the advertising community.”

Class No. 1, An Introduction to Radio and Audio in All Forms, is now available. The approximately 54-minute class is divided into 13 fast-paced modules, allowing participants to learn on their own schedules. At the conclusion of the class, participants will complete a short quiz and earn a digital completion badge that can be added to an email signature and shared across professional social media channels.

Once the full AMP curriculum launches, participants who successfully complete all classes and assessments will earn the Audio Marketing Professional (AMP) Certification.

RAB developed AMP with input from leaders across the marketing, agency and radio communities. The program also gives RAB-member broadcasters a new educational resource to share with advertisers, agencies and prospects.
