Recommerce retail continues to rise, even for the holidays

In a special 2025 holiday release, OfferUp – an online secondhand marketplace that supports physical buyer-seller transactions – reports that some 81% of respondents to one of the company's recent surveys reports that they plan to shop secondhand for holiday gifts. Rising costs are cited as one reason, but shoppers also mention "avoiding shipping stress" and the opportunity to find "more meaningful and personal gifts" as key factors in the decision to shop secondhand.
