Sales Perk Up for Hardware Stores, Building Supply Dealers

Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for May 2026 (adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences but not for price changes) were $763.7 billion, up 0.9 percent from the previous month. That figure is up 6.9 percent from May 2025.
