RAB Supports Generous Nation PSA Campaign
Stations Encouraged To Register and Participate
New York, New York – December 27, 2006 – The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) has announced its support of the Ad Council PSA campaign, Generous Nation, and is urging Radio stations to participate. The campaign's message is simple: Don't almost give -- give.
The PSA spots invite Radio listeners to visit the campaign's public website, www.DontAlmostGive.org, where they can search by zip code to find volunteer opportunities in their communities and to donate to more than one million charities at the local or national levels.
To ensure Radio receives recognition for its impact on the campaign, RAB and the Ad Council are asking stations to register their participation by taking a few minutes to complete the Station Participation Form, available along with the downloadable spots, at www.RAB.com.
“Radio has a long history as a lead supporter of efforts like this,” said Jeff Haley, President and Chief Executive Officer, RAB. “Drawing from an unparalleled and uniquely intimate relationship with communities and listeners, Radio can impact this national campaign at the local level, empowering our audiences, igniting community spirit, and firmly establishing Radio's power to engage. In partnering with the Ad Council in this effort, it is our sincere hope that this campaign can serve as further evidence of Radio's power to inspire and motivate.”
The PSA spots were distributed by the Ad Council digitally and on CD to Radio stations across the country prior to the December holidays. Generous Nation is designed to bolster the efforts of the nonprofit community by galvanizing the many Americans who are inspired to give, to give more frequently and to help those who are most in need.
The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) is the sales and marketing arm of the Radio industry with nearly 7,000 members including close to 6,000 stations in the U.S., and over 1,000 associate members in networks, representative firms, sales, and international organizations.
