The Annual 'Rising Through the Ranks' Course Postponed for 2020

New York, NY - April 30, 2020 - Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), Broadcast Music, Inc. ® (BMI®), and the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) Group have announced the annual “Rising Through the Ranks” Seminar will be postponed for 2020 due to COVID-19.  This marks the first time in 13 years where the program has to be-rescheduled, however, due to the current travel restrictions and fluid situation of COVID-19, it made sense to look towards 2021 for the professional development course which is designed to foster and educate current and emerging female radio managers within broadcast radio.

"Rising Through the Ranks is by far one of my favorite initiatives produced by the RAB and I’m disappointed that we have to suspend it due to COVID-19," said Erica Farber, president and chief executive officer, Radio Advertising Bureau. "However, we’ve seen that knowledge sharing through intimate peer-to-peer discussions between both speakers and attendees is immeasurable, that we couldn’t replicate this experience in a virtual setting.”

“BMI has supported Rising Through the Ranks with partners Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group and the RAB for 13 years now, said Dan Spears, vice president, industry relations, BMI. “It’s always been one of the highlights of the year, and while we are disappointed that this year’s program had to be canceled, we look forward to hosting these talented industry leaders and up-and-coming female executives at our Nashville office in 2021.”

RAB will announce plans for next year’s seminar in early 2021.
