On behalf of the RAB Board of Directors, Erik and I thank you for the opportunity to serve together in our new capacity as RAB's President/CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors. We are both deeply honored by the trust bestowed by our colleagues and are equally committed to advancing the industry forward and gearing up for our collective success in 2025 and beyond.
It goes without saying - this is a critical moment for our industry - our members, your teams and our communities. With the guidance of RAB's executive committee and participation of the organization's senior staff, we have been diligently working this past year to ensure your RAB meets the critical moment head on and does what it can to collectively serve you and do our part to propel radio forward. Over the last year, broadcasters have come together to address the industry's future, collaborating and addressing the challenges head on, and committed to speaking with one voice which view as positive momentum.
The key to our success is ensuring we meet your needs, understanding the future of the advertising marketplace and media ecosystem and ensuring radio's success for the near and long term. And above all, we want to be in alignment with our members, clients and listeners.
It quickly became apparent to us that our ten-year old mission statement and objectives were mis-aligned for this exact moment, and therefore, we needed to crystalize just what the focus must be for RAB and the industry to persevere, compete, and thrive in the coming years. We're excited to share with you RAB's updated Mission Statement and Key Objectives, adopted and codified by the RAB Board of Directors at the Fall Board of Directors Meeting in October 2024.
RAB Mission Statement
- RAB is the not-for-profit trade association dedicated to advancing America's radio broadcasters. In support of our members, RAB focuses on driving revenue by promoting radio in all its forms. We enhance professional skills with services, resources and continuous training opportunities while supporting programs to attract and retain talent across the industry.
Key Objectives
- Advocacy: Lead efforts to promote the benefits and use of radio in all its forms. Inspire and educate the advertising community, locally and nationally.
- Training: Provide development for all stages of a radio career. Our goal is to help members achieve success with advertisers using this knowledge and skills.
- Workforce Development: Support initiatives to attract new talent to the industry, while impacting talent retention through resources and shared best practices.
You'll be hearing more about various initiatives and efforts RAB will be undertaking to support the mission in the coming months and as you'll see here in the 2024 Annual Report, we've already started to do so.
The Annual Report is divided into seven sections. After you click on this link to the report, you will find a convenient menu on the left side of the screen to help you navigate to each section. Depending on the screen size of your computer, all of the content in each section may not fit on your screen so please be sure to scroll down to view content that may be below the fold.
We look forward to moving forward as an industry, collaborating on behalf of our clients and listeners and ensuring a bright future for radio.
