RAB Superusers
In August, RAB launched a new strategic initiative recognizing and highlighting engaged, committed and passionate members. These 'RAB Superusers' utilize RAB's resources regularly and they are selected based on their RAB activities. Each month we highlight the RAB Superuser in Radio Sales Today and ask them to share some of their best tips - providing them the opportunity to share their RAB.com know-how and feature some of their favorite go-to-products. The superusers also receive an RAB radio-themed t-shirt or reusable tote bag.
Sales Advisory Committee
The RAB Sales Advisory Committee (SAC) is made up of key executives from RAB member stations from all size markets. The mission of the RAB Sales Advisory Committee is to provide RAB staff with direction on training for radio sales and marketing professionals across all brands and platforms. The committee met four times this year through Zoom and focused on the changing needs of the radio sales landscape. The committee’s attention this year has been to continue to help guide the RAB on Radio Works category presentations, which includes their own stations' participation. The committee also established a Radio Sales Recruitment and Hiring initiative focused on helping the industry recruit, hire and retain salespeople.

RAB Multicultural Committee
Census data shows the multicultural population continues to grow and is quickly becoming the majority. Yielding incredible buying power, local businesses can increase their sales using radio to reach these diverse consumers. Through the guidance of RAB's Multicultural Committee steered by RAB Board Member Tony Coles, President of Black Information Network at iHeartMedia, RAB has produced a number of resources to provide sellers with data, insights and guidelines on information they need to promote, not only radio's value as a strong engaging medium, but the revenue potential for advertisers to connect with diverse audiences.
The multicultural section on RAB.com includes:
- RAB Multicultural Checklist a guideline for some of the data points that should be covered when meeting with current or prospective advertisers.
- Did you know series focused on Asian, Black and Hispanic consumers educate and inform of the nuances of multicultural consumers and the role that radio plays in their daily lives.
- A brand new radio sizzle video (see right) highlighting, not only the importance of targeting diverse consumers but also radio's ability to engage multicultural consumers both in language and in culture.
