In 2023, RAB Professional Development continued to inspire, engage, educate, equip and empower members for the ever-changing media landscape. We experienced a strong return to live events with our in-person customized broadcaster training, along with a continuation of virtual training programs we started during the pandemic.
The feedback has been extremely positive for both in-person and virtual training courses.
"Very informative! My main goal as a newbie to not only sales but radio as well is to be a sponge and absorb as much information as possible. Today really helped me with achieving that goal and I can't thank RAB enough for taking the time to educate me! I am going to live by the seven steps to selling success."
Alex Kraskowsky - KOLA/KCAL
“This course was not only inspiring and engaging, it equipped me with tools that helped advance my career in radio. I started LMC as a local sales manager and now I'm the market's general manager. Having peers in the class of all leadership levels, as well as RAB Leadership pros, gave me the opportunity to learn from different styles and hear different perspectives that helped me build a game plan based on the successes of other markets. The follow up sessions after the class continues to contribute to my learning and comradery among industry professionals. If you've been in a leadership role or are just stepping into one, RAB's Leadership Master Class is the best source for next level training!"
Leadership MasterClass Graduate
RAB in partnership with MIW and BMI held the 15th annual Rising Through the Ranks program LIVE in Nashville in 2023. Again this year we conducted a "get-to-know-you" virtual session leading up to the live two-day course. It's proven to be a positive program enhancement as it enables participants to feel connected and more confident when they arrive on site. Twenty-five scholarship recipients participated in this year's event.
The curriculum focused on the specific needs of women in radio management or those aspiring to move into management positions and worked to enhance their overall knowledge and skills. The program featuring thirteen individual speakers was customized to feature practical and real-world applications that graduates could immediately use within their own companies.
Additionally, the intimate setting allowed for personal success stories and leadership journeys from the featured radio executives including personal stories that set a tone of transparency, vulnerability and immense collaboration. Trisha Yearwood, award-winning artist was this year's featured guest.
Virtual training included five full-day Radio Sales Essentials courses with a total of 93 attendees and two virtual and one in-person Leadership MasterClasses where 121 graduates spent six consecutive weeks at three-hour increments in training classes that leverage both the intimate setting and class feedback format including executive coaching.
