Tyson Jominy, vice president of data and analytics at J.D. Power, shared the current auto landscape and the impact of tariffs. Takeaways from the presentation: A challenge in the automotive industry: "One other challenge that's out there was the bottom of the volume and the loss of the supply chain. Nobody was leasing vehicles. So now three years forward in time, you don't get those same consumers coming back to the market. Dealers love lease consumers, the lessees come back, and they basically get in the same vehicle over and over again. They're high profit, they come back for service and maintenance, and they stay very connected to the dealership, so dealers love lease owners. They're very easy to sell to."
