RAB Research and Sales Tips

Can You Help, Please?

Would you like to:

• Be a better person?

• Be smarter?

• Reduce stress?

• Improve your physical and mental health?

Interestingly, you can do all these things by doing one thing: Reading. In an article by ZMEScience, these are just some of the scientific benefits of reading. Shockingly, studies conducted by the Pew Research Center show that 27% of Americans do not read at all.

I love reading. Reading allows us to expand our thinking, consider new concepts and learn new things. I’m committed to reading at least one, if not two books a month. We are frequently asked for book recommendations, and you’ll find multiple authors quoted in our training materials and presentations. Just last week, a member asked me to give some recommendations on some good books to read.

Here’s another example where we can help each other out. I’ll share a few here, but what would really be great is if you would email me here with your most recent book, and your key take-away from your reading. This way, we can compile a list to share with everyone so we can all find new material and derive all the great benefits of reading. Are you willing to help?

I’ll start off with a few of my favorites – both current and classic, in the marketing/sales/business genre:

• Positioning: The Battle for the Mind. A classic but must-read in this business by Ries and Trout

• Green Eggs & Ham, by Dr. Seuss – greatest book on persistence and sales of all time

• Start with Why, by Simon Sinek

• Drive, by Daniel Pink

• Outliers, by Malcom Gladwell

• BadMen, by Bob Hoffman

• You’re not Listening, by Kate Murphy

• Emotional Intelligence 2.0, by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves

• Linchpin, by Seth Godin

That’s my partial list. Will you share yours? Email me at Jeff.Schmidt@rab.com. We’ll either create the list as a future sales tip, or if we get an overwhelming response, which I expect we will, we’ll create a full PDF and put it on our website. Thanks for reading!
