Retail sales better than expected in June 2024

June retail sales remained stable month-over-month but increased 2.3% year-over-year. Core retail sales rose 0.9% in June and 1.3% year-over-year. Analysts had anticipated a 0.2% drop. For the first half of 2024, core retail sales grew 3.2%.
