The power of the elevator speech
The elevator speech is not the actual length of time it takes to rise in an elevator but, as it implies, a clear, brief and persuasive message delivered to a prospect or customer.
An elevator speech has several fundamental characteristics:
-- It has structure, with an opening and close.
-- It can be formal or informal.
-- The typical length is about two or three minutes.
-- It has the sole function of intriguing a listener and stimulating his or her interest, leading to a longer, more detailed presentation at a later time.
-- It's a tool that helps you earn the right to be heard.
-- It can initiate opportunities for the future.
