RAB Sales Tips

RAB access for all!

Coaching calls are the best. You learn about what's going on at the street level, the market level and the regional level. Sometimes you get smacked in the face with something that seems so obvious to everyone else, but not to you. That's the magic of a trusted network of people who can provide you encouragement, correction, ideas and shared experiences.

If you're a manager or a person who aspires to be, we would encourage you to consider our Leadership MasterClass. We'll have several classes in 2023 and we would welcome your participation.

So, here's the slap in the face that I received this week on our call. The manager was explaining that they talk about RAB resources frequently in their meetings and he had a promotions person ask if they have access to RAB.com. This was one of those times I wanted to crawl under my desk because of my stupid assumptions. I assumed every manager in every market knew that and RAB membership was not just for sales, but for EVERYONE on the team. Thank you, Kenton, for this great reminder.

On-air, promotions, business office, interns and part-timers ALL have access to RAB.com through your membership and all can gain value from various resources. Programmers can use audience research to help shape future programming decisions. Business offices can keep up to date on changing trends and operational efficiencies, promotions teams can look at our promotions calendar and promotional resources and the list goes on and on of valuable resources available to your entire staff on rab.com. And of course, salespeople have unlimited resources.

Each RAB member station has "master credentials." You should give those out freely and frequently to your staff. Once they have the master credentials when they log in the first time it helps them create their own user account. Easy.

As we begin the new year, I want to encourage you to do two things: Make sure everyone on your team knows and has access to RAB.com Schedule a member benefits webinar with our membership team. These meetings walk you through all the available resources and allow your teams to ask questions. I recommend these every six months because of the number of updates and changes we are always making.

We want you to have every advantage possible for your success in this business. RAB.com is NOT just for sellers, everyone is welcome, and we trust that everyone will find value.
