Make your boss look good
Being successful is really about making others successful, and your boss is one person you must help succeed in order to succeed yourself.
To get started, sit down and have a meeting with your manager about how he/she likes to work with employees, what that person's goals are, and what their superiors are measuring them on.
Keep your manager's goals in mind when you make a sale. That way, you can prove your value by demonstrating how your work helped them reach their goals as well.
Ambitious professionals communicate regularly with their bosses. They consider how they can support their bosses and regularly go out of their way to do it.
