Americans Say Keeping Up with Key News Topics is Crucial. But Fewer Say They’re Highly Informed Themselves

Most Americans say it is important to keep up with major news topics, yet significantly fewer describe themselves as highly informed about those issues. The research highlights a growing gap between the desire to stay informed and consumers’ confidence in their ability to navigate an increasingly complex and fragmented information environment.

This disconnect underscores the ongoing challenge of capturing and maintaining audience attention, creating implications for media, healthcare, financial services and consumer brands that depend on clear, credible and accessible communication to build understanding and trust.
