Hear from our June RAB Superuser Group and Their Success!
Join us as we recognize MBS Radio (Maritime Broadcasting System), headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia as the Superuser Group for June 2026. Operating more than 25 radio stations across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, the company continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to sales development and industry excellence.
We asked a few questions about RAB and radio and here is what Susan Coish, general manager of Moncton, New Brunswick, shared with us.
What is the makeup of the MBS Radio team – is it a mix of new and seasoned sellers?
We have a team of three sellers – Crystal (2.5 years), Jolene (one year), Chelsea (five months). I have been with MBS Radio and using RAB for three years.
How does the MBS Radio sales team implement RAB resources?
We use RAB.com weekly, during our sales meetings, as our arsenal, to share sales enablement collateral.
Is there a focus on RAB tools in sales meetings to keep member benefits top-of-mind and part of daily usage?
Every week. We incorporate the Professional Development Resource Page for continuous sales development.
What are the sales team’s favorite RAB resources and tools, and why?
There are so many, but the top two are: The On Demand videos. For example, this presentation as well as this favorite. WHY? Continuous Development + Sales Enablement = Confidence. Confidence turns into revenue.
What has been the biggest success for the MBS Radio sales team this year, and what contributed to that success?
Revenue growth and new business. We are constantly exceeding targets. The largest contributor is, again, continuous development and knowledge building through RAB resources.
What are the merits and benefits of Account Manager (RAB’s CRM tool) and how can radio groups benefit from subscribing to it, especially if you compare it to other CRMs in the marketplace?
Sales professionals despise data entry. Most CRMs overcomplicate data entry and data outputs. RAB’s CRM is easy to use and navigate. Less time with data entry/analyzing data = More time to sell.
Finish this sentence: Radio Works because…
Radio works because consumers buy from businesses they remember. While digital marketing grows more fragmented and complicated, radio consistently builds familiarity and trust with local audiences. The result is a marketing solution that's easy to understand for SMBs and effective at driving customers through your door.
