The Grocery Habits of Higher-Income AmericansHigher-income Americans shop differently than other consumers, with Costco emerging as their most distinctive grocery destination. According to YouGov, 11% of higher-income shoppers identify Costco as their primary grocery retailer versus 5% of middle- and lower-income shoppers. They also shop more frequently, with 34% making grocery trips several times a week, and spend significantly more, as 51% report household grocery spending exceeding $150 per week compared with 28% of other consumers.
