Americans Miss Their Besties More During Summer

A new Talker Research survey found that nearly one in three Americans experience "friendship FOMO" during the summer, missing the time they used to spend with their closest friends. Busy schedules, distance and travel costs are the biggest barriers to staying connected, yet 60% of Americans are planning or considering a summer road trip, and many see travel as an opportunity to reconnect with friends in meaningful ways.

These findings highlight the emotional value consumers place on shared experiences and relationships, creating opportunities for travel, automotive, restaurants, entertainment and hospitality businesses that can position their products and services around connection, memory-making and quality time with friends and family.
