Do U.S. Adults Notice Brands in Movies, TV Shows or Streaming Content?



YouGov found that 45% of U.S. adults say they always or often notice brands featured in movies, TV shows and streaming content, with younger adults especially likely to recognize product placements. More than half (52%) believe product placement is an effective form of advertising, and among those who notice branded content, food and beverage brands are by far the most visible category, followed by automotive and technology brands. Many consumers also report taking action after seeing a featured product, including searching for it online or making a purchase.

These findings reinforce the growing influence of entertainment-based marketing, creating opportunities for consumer packaged goods, automotive, technology, retail and entertainment brands to build awareness through authentic brand integrations that complement broader advertising and marketing strategies.
