Are you in love?

Okay, so maybe it's trite and cheesy for me to ask such a question the week we celebrate Valentine's Day. At the same time, life can be downright tricky if you're not in love with what you do.

We live in a world filled with chaos, complexity and uncertainty. As media sales professionals and experts in marketing, we can be the calm during the storm – a calming influence with information and help for businesses in our communities – that's what they really need.

I am looking forward to hosting our first Radio Sales Essentials class of 2024 tomorrow – register here. It's always inspiring to have a group of media sales professionals together to learn, grow, and determine how we can best help our clients and our communities.

As in past classes, we always share the three nonverbal elements that you need to project whenever you are meeting with clients (or anyone, for that matter):

Joy – Not the same as happiness, but a true sense of joy for doing what you do.

Confidence – The kind of confidence that comes from knowing what you're doing and being good at it.

Passion – People can sense whether you are going through the motions or whether you genuinely love your job and what you do.

While this week's holiday may have a more significant meaning about your love interests, there's never a wrong time to remind ourselves why we love what we do. Clients need hope, they need solutions, and they need help. You can be the beacon of joy, confidence, and passion that will help them not just survive but thrive.
