Q: Cynthia, what is it you do for the Radio Advertising Bureau?
A: I'm a coder, a programmer, a web developer.
Q: I understand your job involves something call Coldfusion®. What's Coldfusion®? Is that a science project?
A: ColdFusion® is the name of a commercial rapid web application development platform. It includes advanced features for enterprise integration and development of rich Internet applications. It allows for file archive manipulation, server integration image manipulation including automatic CAPTCHA generation), multi-threading, per-application settings, reporting enhancements, stronger encryption libraries, array and structure improvements, improved database interaction, extensive performance improvements, PDF manipulation and merging capabilities, and embedded database support.
Q: Ummm... Okay. I have no idea what you just said.
A: In a nutshell, if you can access what you need on RAB.com, you're welcome.
Q: You also have an exciting life outside the RAB...
A: Forbes Magazine named the town of Frisco, TX as one of 'America's Friendliest Towns.' They failed to mention that it's also the city where I live with my fantastic husband and our spectacularly above-average children, Ava and Cody. And though we do have a minivan, I have not become a soccer mom... yet!
Q: When you were a little girl, did you dream of growing up to be a coder, programmer, web developer?
A: Well, my true dream job is to travel the world like Andrew Zimmern, but I'm not sold on eating, "bizarre food."
Q: And when you're not at work?
A: In my spare time, and if there were enough hours in a day, I would catch up on watching my favorite shows - I particularly like "reality" shows. My only-slightly jealous husband says I'm actually in love with my DVR.
