Housing starts slip in March

The Census Bureau's latest data on housing starts reflects the anxious U.S. economic landscape. Privately-owned housing starts in March clocked in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,324,000. This figure is 11.4 percent below the revised February estimate of 1,494,000, but it's 1.9 percent above the March 2024 rate of 1,299,000.
