US Roommates are Getting Older
The U.S. roommate population is getting significantly older, with people aged 45+ now making up about 25% of roommates—more than double a decade ago—and those 65+ representing the fastest-growing segment.
As housing costs and lifestyle needs drive more older adults into shared living, roommate dynamics are increasingly multigenerational and shaped by both financial necessity and social connection.
