Hear from our April RAB Superuser Group and Their Hands-On, Team-Driven Approach!

This month, we are recognizing Wright Media, Oklahoma, as the April 2026 RAB Superuser Group. Leading the team is Heston Wright, president and general manager.

Heston Wright is also an active member of RAB’s Sales Advisory Committee. We asked him a few questions about RAB and radio. Read on to learn how they are tapping into RAB resources and sharing their successes.

What is the makeup of the Wright Media team – is it a mix of new and seasoned sellers?
We have a strong balance of experience and new energy on our team. Three of our sellers have been with Wright Media for over 10 years, one has been with us for four years and we recently added a new team member about five months ago. We’ll also be growing this summer. My daughter Abby is joining us after graduating from Oklahoma State. I’m excited to have her on board. (And yes, I’m a proud dad!)

How does the Wright Media sales team implement RAB resources? Is there a focus on RAB tools in sales meetings to keep member benefits top-of-mind and part of daily usage?
While we’ve been familiar with RAB for over 20 years, our usage in the past was inconsistent. In 2026, that changed in a big way. We’ve made RAB a core part of our weekly sales meetings by assigning each team member to explore RAB.com and present what they’ve learned. These peer-led demos have been highly effective in driving engagement and practical application. In my opinion, this hands-on, team-driven approach has been the key to successfully integrating RAB into our daily sales process.

What are the sales team’s favorite RAB resources and tools, and why?
Right now, the AI-powered copywriting (CopyWrite) tool is the clear favorite. It allows our team to quickly generate multiple ad options that are easy to customize, which benefits both our sellers and our clients. It keeps campaigns fresh and helps spark new ideas. In addition, Proposal Assistant, Radio Facts and Daily Sales Tips are heavily used and valued for supporting smarter, more informed sales conversations.

What has been the biggest success for the Wright Media sales team this year, and what contributed to that success?
The biggest win for our team this year has been our sports program. In just an eight-week stretch from June through August, we generated over $1 million in revenue, sold 500+ units, produced both radio and video ads and organized the plan to broadcast/live stream eight schools. It really comes down to solid planning, staying consistent and having a team that knows how to make the most of high-demand opportunities.

Finish this sentence: Radio Works because…
… it’s live, local, and immediate - driven by real voices, real stories and the moments that matter most to our local community through local news, sports, current events and real DJs. We are the heartbeat of our community. We produce moments that bring people together every single day, creating real connections that drive results for advertisers.
