Survey: Consumers Spend More than $11,000 Locally per Year

Consumers are spending heavily within their communities, averaging more than $11,000 annually at local businesses, with plans to increase that spending by nearly 9% in 2026—highlighting the continued importance of local retail and neighborhood-based commerce.

This sustained commitment to local spending creates strong momentum for small businesses, restaurants, service providers and community-based retailers that can position themselves as convenient, trusted and integral parts of the local economy.
