Everyday Indulgence, Smart Value, and Shopper Confidence Shape the Future of Frozen Treats

New research from the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) finds that frozen treats continue to thrive because they deliver an affordable indulgence during a time when consumers remain value conscious. Shoppers increasingly view ice cream and frozen novelties as an everyday treat that offers convenience, portion control and a cost-effective alternative to dining out or ordering dessert. The research also shows consumers remain confident in purchasing frozen treats as they seek small, affordable ways to reward themselves without stretching their budgets.

The findings reinforce that consumers aren't eliminating discretionary purchases—they're becoming more selective about where they indulge. Grocery retailers, frozen food manufacturers, convenience stores and dessert brands can capitalize on this trend by emphasizing value, convenience and premium experiences at an accessible price point.
