Retirement Travel Survey: Financially Confident Retirees Worry About Time, Not Money
Boldin's 2026 Retirement Travel Survey found that travel is the No. 1 retirement goal, with 67% of respondents ranking it among their top two priorities. Among retirees who prioritize travel, 51% worry more about running out of healthy years than running out of money, while just 8% say money is their biggest concern. The study also found that 89% have incorporated travel into their retirement plan, and 86% are confident they know how much they can safely spend, demonstrating that financial planning can increase confidence to enjoy retirement rather than simply accumulate wealth.
The findings suggest that today's retirees are planning experiences, not just protecting savings. Travel companies, financial advisors, banks, insurance providers, healthcare organizations and hospitality businesses have an opportunity to connect with financially prepared retirees by emphasizing meaningful experiences, flexibility and the freedom to enjoy their healthiest years while giving them confidence their plans remain financially secure.
