Most Parents Support AI in Schools, But How It’s Used Matters

A new National School Choice Awareness Foundation survey of 2,053 parents found that 76% support at least some use of artificial intelligence in schools, including 47% who believe AI should be actively integrated into learning. Additionally, 78% say a school's approach to AI is an important factor when evaluating education options. Parents view AI most favorably when it personalizes learning to a student's needs and pace (42%) and prepares students for AI-driven careers (21%), while their biggest concerns are overdependence on technology (48%), cheating (16%) and weaker critical thinking skills (12%).

The findings suggest parents are embracing AI as a tool to support - not replace - the learning experience. Education providers, technology companies, tutoring services and businesses serving schools have an opportunity to position AI as a way to personalize instruction, improve student outcomes and prepare children for future careers while reinforcing the essential role of teachers in the classroom.
