Turkey sandwiches led the country, ranking first in seven states, followed by grilled cheese in six states and pastrami on rye in four. Regional favorites also stood out, including the Philly cheesesteak in Pennsylvania, Cuban sandwich in Florida, crab cake sandwich in Maryland, lobster roll in Maine and po’ boy in Louisiana.

The findings give sellers a fun, localized way to start conversations with restaurants, delis, sandwich shops, bakeries, supermarkets, convenience stores and food delivery services.
