From Diagnoses To Treatments, Why Americans Use AI Chatbots For Health
AI chatbots are becoming a health information resource for many Americans, with 34% saying they use them for at least one health or medical purpose. The most common reason is getting information quickly (28%), followed by identifying what may be causing symptoms (25%), while 22% use chatbots to learn about treatments or better understand a doctor’s diagnosis. Among those using AI for health information, 95% find the information at least somewhat helpful.
The findings suggest consumers are actively seeking information outside traditional health care settings, creating an opportunity for trusted providers to make education part of their marketing. Sellers can approach hospitals, health systems, physician practices, urgent care centers, pharmacies, laboratories and other health care providers about campaigns that provide credible, easy-to-understand information and position their professionals as trusted resources when consumers have questions about their health.
