16% Of U.S. Adults Are ‘Very’ Likely To Switch Health Insurance Soon – Here’s What To Know

Consumer-reported data from July through the end of August show that 16% of U.S. adults are ‘very’ likely to switch health insurance plans or enroll in new coverage within the next year, while an additional 26% are ‘somewhat’ likely. Ongoing tracking shows this intent has intensified since summer 2025, when 13% were ‘very’ likely to switch, and 23% were ‘somewhat’ likely to do so.
