Survey: CHRO Confidence Remains in Positive Territory, But Continues to Inch Down

CHRO confidence remained positive in the third quarter, although the Confidence Index slipped to 56 from 58 in Q2. More than half of CHROs, 53%, expect hiring to increase during the next six months, but expectations for overall workforce growth declined. Employee engagement also weakened, while AI is reshaping workforce planning: 82% of CHROs say their organizations have changed workforce-planning processes because of AI, yet only 4% consider their organizations very prepared to manage AI-driven workforce changes over the next two years.

The findings create opportunities for recruitment and staffing firms, HR consultants, employee benefits providers, training and professional development companies, colleges and career-training programs, business technology providers and workplace wellness companies. Sellers can focus conversations on helping employers recruit and retain talent, improve engagement, build AI-related skills and prepare employees for changing workforce needs.
