Mattress Firm endures, holding top spot among bedding retailers

Despite a sales decline as it closed hundreds of stores, Mattress Firm continues to stand atop the mattress sales pyramid, unchallenged. The Houston-based retailer endured a Chapter 11 reorganization, closed stores across the country, and saw its bedding sales drop 4.1% to an estimated $2.9 billion, according to Furniture Today’s report of the Top 25 conventional bedding retailers, which doesn’t include online mattress retailers.
