If you think you're beaten — you are

On Friday, we shared important research about our self-talk and how we are influenced by our self-talk — positively or negatively.

During a recent visit with Mel Suhr, who owns radio stations in Iowa, he shared with me a quote that is on his desk. Over dinner, Mel's eyes seemed to twinkle as he recited these words from memory. They aren't just a plaque on his desk, he's living them.

If you think you're beat (author unknown)

"If you think you are beaten, you are. if you think you dare not, you don't. If you would like to win, but you think you can't it's almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you've lost. for out in the world, you'll find. Success begins with a person's will. It's all in a state of mind.

Life's battles don't always go, to the stronger or faster woman/man. But sooner or later, the person who wins. Is the person who thinks they can."

As you start this week, don't just think you can — KNOW YOU CAN. You're on the front lines of economic success and prosperity in your market. You are helping businesses achieve greater levels of success. You do incredibly important, life-changing work.

And you're good at it!

Happy Monday!
