Political Advertisers: Don't Overlook the Daily Commute
As political campaigns look for effective ways to reach voters ahead of the 2026 midterms, new research from Audacy points to an audience that could play an important role: commuters.
Nearly eight in 10 employed Americans commute at least two days a week, putting millions of voters on the road on a regular basis. And with nearly 90% of workers who commute traveling by car, audio provides an opportunity to connect with them during a consistent part of their daily routine.
But the research goes beyond commuting habits. It examines the issues influencing these voters, their likelihood to turn out and how radio and podcasts can complement other political media to extend campaign reach.
